Chiropractic care involves treatment of the dysfunction of joints, especially the spine

Chiropractors treat a wide range of conditions and people, including sportspeople, working professionals, children, elderly and everyone in between.

Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline that focuses on diagnosing, treating and preventing disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. The primary method of treatment in chiropractic care is spinal manipulation or adjustment as well as a wide variety of soft tissue mobilisation techniques. Chiropractors utilise gentle non-surgical techniques for all ages. A chiropractor’s main concern is your spine and nervous system and how well both are functioning. It’s a chiropractor’s task to evaluate the bio-mechanical structure of the spine, to ensure that each one of the individual vertebrae are moving freely and are not restricted or fixed in any way.

Any such displacement or restriction can cause the spinal nerve that exits from the inter-vertebral opening to become irritated, either through direct pressure or through indirect stimulation/irritation. A problem in just one of the vertebral joints can affect the related part of your nervous system. Chiropractic care has been known to successfully and safely treat many conditions that are nerve, muscle or joint related. Although most chiropractors predominantly focus on the spine and how it is functioning, the biomechanics of the upper and lower limbs is also of great importance.
